Grosse Ile Middle School Sideline Cheerleading Update

September 7, 2020 Sport Update

Dear GIMS families and students,

It's official! Sideline cheerleading is back on for the fall season. We are beyond excited and cannot wait to get started. Below you will find important information about the cheerleading program, practice information, program expectations, along with state requirements due to Covid-19.

Student-athletes will require daily check-ins, including temperature checks, wearing masks, and practicing social distancing when at all possible. Please refer to the email from the GI Athletic Department for gameplay safety and audience attendance.

Athletes may use their 2019-2020 physical if participated in a sport last year and the physical is on file with the office. You will need to complete the GI Athletic Department Health form.  If you do not have a physical on file or did not participate in a sport last year, you will need a new physical on file to participate on September 14th.

I am thrilled to welcome Madeline Merolla to our coaching staff this season. Madeline is a GI alumni cheerleader. She has extensive knowledge and experience with the sport. Let's welcome her to the GIMS cheerleading team!
